Bi-Axial vs Uni-Axial
Our E'Grid range includes both Uni-Axial and Bi-Axial Polypropylene Geogrids. Uni-Axial
is specifically engineered to reinforce walls and slopes, Bi-Axial geogrids combine with any fill material to stabilise weak and variable soils.

Bi-Axial
Wrekin Bi-Axial geogrids can solve pavement problems by reinforcing granular sub-bases, capping layers & railway ballasts in areas of weak variable soils. When granular particles are compacted over these grids, they partially penetrate and project through the apertures to create a strong and positive interlock. The load dispersal effect from the interlocking mechanism increases shearing resistance within the soil, allowing the sub-base thickness to be reduced ultimately reducing construction time & costs.

E'Grid Bi-Axial geogrids can be employing in single or multi layers. The tough platform created provides tremendous load dispersal, allowing previously weak soils to be reclaimed for development e.g. Foundations, Motorways, Railways & Airport Runways.

Bi-Axial geogrids are available in two aperture sizes, to suit any fill material.

Uni-Axial
Wrekin Uni-Axial geogrids are meshes with elongated apertures made from 'high density polyethylene. Their principle characteristic is good creep performance when reinforcing soil walls & slopes. Employed in multiple layers Uni-Axial E'Grid can be wrapped around the soil face to the required slop angle, allowing natural vegetation to grow through.

Soil walls and slops can be constructed quickly using simple technology, in construction of roads and railways land take and construction costs can be greatly reduced by using E'Grid reinforcement.
