1. Purpose
This policy sets out our commitment to managing and reducing our carbon emissions as part of our wider environmental and sustainability responsibilities. We recognise the impact of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions on climate change and are committed to contributing to a low-carbon future.
2. Scope
This policy applies to all Wrekin Products UK based operations, employees, and business activities, including our supply chain where relevant.
3. Our Commitment
We are committed to:
- Measuring and monitoring our carbon emissions across Scope 1, Scope 2, and relevant Scope 3 categories and reducing our greenhouse gas emissions in line with recognised best practice and the latest science-based thinking.
- Supporting the transition to net zero emissions by complying with all applicable environmental legislation and regulations through continually improving our environmental and carbon performance.
4. Carbon Reduction Objectives
We will:
- Establish a baseline of our carbon emissions and set measurable and time-bound reduction targets
- Review and update targets regularly and integrate carbon reduction into business decision-making
5. Key Actions
We will:
- Improve energy efficiency across our operations and increase use of renewable and low-carbon energy sources where feasible
- Work with suppliers to encourage lower-carbon products and services
- Minimise waste and promote reuse and recycling
- Encourage employee awareness and participation in carbon reduction training and initiatives
6. Monitoring and Reporting
We will
- Track and report our carbon emissions with all stakeholders on a regular basis
- Maintain accurate records to support transparency
- Communicate progress internally and externally where appropriate
7. Responsibilities
Senior management has overall responsibility for carbon management and ensuring resources are available
As indicated within the RACI matrix managers are responsible for implementing this policy within their areas
All employees are expected to support and contribute to carbon reduction efforts
8. Review
This policy will be reviewed as part of our management review process annually to ensure it remains relevant and effective.
