Supporting the Scottish National Gallery Revamp

We supported a hugely prestigious, multi-million-pound transformation project at the Scottish National Gallery in Edinburgh. The gallery in the heart of a World Heritage site, has been the scene of an ongoing major revamp. We were asked to provide technical advice on dealing with the topsoil erosion control needed as part of new landscaping and paths in the gallery’s grounds.

Helping to keep busy Suffolk road moving

Wrekin’s technical team was contacted in August 2020 by contractor Interserve (now Tilbury Douglas), which made the improvements on behalf of Suffolk County Council, after the groundworker needed assistance mitigating issues caused by soft ground in the sub-formation near where the link road was being constructed – bringing the project to a halt.

Old Colwyn Embankment Repairs

Wrekin were approached by Alun Griffiths (Contractors) Limited, and Atkins to advise on a suitable geotextile to go beneath rock armour as a heavy duty separation and filtration layer. The geotextile would form part of the necessary repair work to Network Rail Wales’ embankment at Old Colwyn, Conwy. The project is one of a series of schemes along the North Wales coastline where Wrekin have supplied their Multitrack geotextile to Alun Griffiths (Contractors) Limited.
