Introducing Pulse, the next-generation ductile iron manhole cover range created to deliver long-term strength, stability and resilience.
Developed through one of the most rigorous client-led testing programmes we have ever undertaken, Pulse represents a major step forward in performance for utilities, local authorities and contractors seeking dependable, whole-life value from their ironwork installations.
Pulse has been created to meet the demanding needs of modern telecoms, water and energy networks, supporting stable access in locations exposed to heavy trafficking and high-intensity loading. With improved bedding stability, reduced stress on chamber walls and verified environmental performance, it offers a strong, future-ready solution for critical infrastructure.
John Kiernan, Product Manager, said: “We design solutions that tackle the real challenges faced on today’s networks. Pulse delivers precisely what our customers have asked for. It brings proven stability and lower maintenance needs across the range.”
At the heart of the system is an inverted T-flange frame profile, created to protect bedding mortar and the chamber structure by spreading loads evenly and preventing stress concentrations. Independent testing recorded reductions in peak bedding stress of up to 78 percent and around 13 percent less deflection compared with competing welded-frame designs.
