Wrekin Products has welcomed two highly experienced industry professionals to further support the firm’s ethos of finding and providing the right solution for each client.
Dave Sanders, who previously worked for Wrekin as regional sales manager from 2016 to 2018, returns to the company as senior national contracts manager for commercial, highways and housing. He’ll be responsible for forging relationships with developers, contractors, local authorities and specifiers to promote Wrekin’s new products.
Dave said: “Having worked for the business before, I knew just how exciting this opportunity would be at a time where there’s so much scope for growth. Wrekin has a real family culture within the business, is extremely well regarded across the industry and it’s clear to see that it has continued to go from strength to strength since I left my previous role.
“I’m looking forward to immersing myself back into the world of access covers and gully gratings, maximising the opportunities to promote our new products and, of course, providing solutions to the everyday issues our customers face.”
Meanwhile, Shahid Raza, who has more than 30 years’ industry experience, joins as business and technical manager for geosynthetics and will lead on engaging with contractors and engineers with regards to Wrekin’s range of geosynthetic products and projects.
Shahid said: “After working in geosynthetic sales for the past 15 years, I couldn’t be more excited to be starting this new chapter of my career with Wrekin. Everyone has been so welcoming and made me feel like part of the team, even if Covid has meant I’ve not been able to meet everybody yet.
“I was drawn to Wrekin due to its clear objectives and aspirations for the next five to ten years, and I wanted to be part of the team responsible for helping the business realise its goals. There’s no doubt in my mind that we will become a major influencer and player in the world of geosynthetics.”
Simon Turner, commercial director at Wrekin, added: “The past six months have seen us welcome a lot of experienced new additions – with Dave and Shahid being our latest appointments. We’re thrilled that Dave has come back to us after two years elsewhere and equally excited to welcome Shahid to the team. Between them they have just shy of 50 years’ experience in the industry and bring a wealth of knowledge with them as well.
