The Kitemarked Highway E600 range of manhole covers exceeds BS EN 124:2015 requirements and includes safety and specific design features required by Highways England. 
Hinge and Lift Out (HALO)HaloHinge boasts a creative design. The covers are fully removable using standard BS 7903 lifting keys, but the covers can also hinge to 100 degrees, remaining captive within the frame and free from risk of accidental closure. The hinges are located on the inside of the frame. This simple design allows for the infill surfaces to be compacted against the straight edges of the frame with ease, unlike other alternatives that have protruding hinges that are difficult to compact around. Compacting equipment over the hinge housing can apply destructive forces to the hinge housing and foundation, making inboard hinges a great solution. Moreover, the inboard hinges prevent hinge pockets from clogging with dirt and debris, ensuring that the hinges operate reliably and promote better health and safety.
