Hercules cover removal guide

Covers from 1.2m units can be removed using mechanical lifting aids attached to a rated M16 lifting eye, fully inserted into the central threaded socket, or three BS7903 lifting keys inserted into safe-lift pockets around the cover perimeter.

1.5m and 1.8m covers can be removed using mechanical lifting aids attached to rated lifting eyes, fully inserted in the central or three perimeters M16 threaded sockets.

Note: Inspection hatches are included on 1.5m and 1.8m covers only.

Remove M16 cap head corner bolts and others as required.

Lifting with 3x long handled keys (1.2m covers only).

Fully insert M16 rated eye into the central eye socket.

Secure lifting chain or strap to rated M16 rated eye (on 1.5m and 1.8m covers, there is the option to insert 3x perimeter eyes).

Remove cover with extended Proteus lifter or similar.

Remove cover with powered lifting equipment such as a forklift.
