New gully chute connector reinforces easier and safer contractor installation
Maximising its ductile iron manufacturing capabilities, specialist civil engineering products provider Wrekin Products has released a new gully chute connector within its access solutions division. This latest solution prioritises ease of installation and weighs less than 25kg for better handling and reduced lifting risk for contractors.
Designed to install below a BS EN 124 480mm x 320mm clear opening gully grate or combined kerb and drainage unit, to act as a primary catchment chamber, the new gully chute connector makes light work of installations – requiring only concrete bed with an intermediate adjustment layer of mortar, before the backfill material and final road surface is applied. The stepped spigot outlet is also suitable for dual pipe sizes and types for a highly adaptable solution.
Furthermore, by using lightweight yet high strength ductile iron, the new gully chute connector meets the Health and Safety Executive’s guidance on the recommended safe maximum weight for lifting at work, which is less than 25kg. The addition of helpful BS 7903 profiled lifting keyholes adds further to secure handling on site.
Compatible with parts available from Wrekin or other manufacturers, the highly versatile solution can be used in a variety of configurations from Group 1 up to Group 4 traffic types, where lanes have been added to the carriageway without moving existing drainage infrastructure. The carefully designed locating features are another example of important considerations made by Wrekin.
