On track with rail solutions

Wrekin Products is proving it is on track to help the rail industry with a team of its specialists attending SafeStart2018 this week.

An event designed to promote ongoing safety standards and innovation across the sector, the event in Coventry is an ideal place for Wrekin Products to make people aware of the products, experts and experience it has to provide rail contractors with geosynthetic and bespoke steel solutions.

A RISQS / Link-up approved manufacturer and supplier of geosynthetic products, Wrekin has PADS approval for several of its items including E’Grid, (certificate no. PA05/05826), a geogrid which helps improve track foundation through the mechanical stabilisation of the sub-ballast layer.

Track constructed over low stiffness subgrades has a low bearing capacity, which traditionally demands improvement or replacement of the founding details. Such works can be both costly and time-consuming. E’Grid makes a positive contribution to the structure of railway track bed.

Wrekin’s geogrids are also used in the creation of working platforms for piling rigs, mobile cranes and loaded areas, and on access, temporary or unpaved roads projects; saving money on excavation, the amount of fill required and installation times. Safety is ensured by completion of an indemnified calculation for the site and equipment.

Bespoke steel access covers

Access covers are an area in which Wrekin is recognised as a UK industry leader and for rail infrastructure projects the company’s ability to provide bespoke steel access covers is a real asset.

With over 30 years’ experience in the design and manufacture of specialist fabricated access covers and frames, Wrekin is able to offer bespoke cover solutions for any chamber size, in any location.

It provides a comprehensive design service, from site surveys to specific CAD drawings, to tailor a product that provides the most cost-effective solution. The service includes installation guide systems.
