A labyrinth seal, as employed in our SafeSeal manhole covers, is designed to maximise sealing effectiveness without the need for additional sealing materials. This type of seal operates on the principle of creating a complex path - akin to a labyrinth - that water or gases must navigate to pass through the seal. The intricacy of this path effectively traps and prevents the passage of water and odours, thereby ensuring a robust seal that maintains the integrity of the manhole cover over time.

For scenarios that demand an enhanced level of sealing, we offer the option to equip the same manhole covers with a pre-installed single elastomeric seal. This addition introduces an extra layer of sealing capability, providing superior protection against the elements and further ensuring the longevity and performance of the installation.
