Force manhole cover render

Packed with an array of features including clever technology, immense strength and confidence-boosting reliability, this range genuinely is a force to be reckoned with.

Our ultra-durable Force D400 round and square-to-round manhole covers are designed with the same principles of our premium Unite range of ironwork, which has an unrivalled pedigree of 20 years’ service – with no reported failures.

The unique hinge utilises has been developed with a mechanism to block dirt and debris from entering the hinge, to ensuring a smooth opening every time. This removes what can often cause a major headache for contractors.

The textured surfaces at the top and bottom of the frame limit the potential for movement and increase the bond with the bedding mortar. The flanges spread the load across the mortar and chamber and into the substructure. The heavy duty frame stiffeners then prevent them from flexing.

As well as the optional security lock, this product comes with a string of other options, including ventilation holes, badging, a safety grille and enhanced anti-slip coating.

Other impressive features of the range, include:

  • Easy single-person lift
  • Sling hooks and apertures in the frame for BS 7903 lifting keys, providing safe manoeuvre
  • The cover sits on a neoprene seal, reducing rocking, while ensuring silent operation and a long service life
  • Built-in I beam technology, commonly found on bridges offers increased resistance to shear forces and bending
  • Offers the most reduced seating wear on the market, increasing longevity, non-rock and silent operation.
  • The elastomeric seating ring cushions the load, boosting the cover’s long life
  • A 610mm clear opening allows fitting over older 24” chambers
  • Can be fitted with a badge or an RFID tag, allowing for simple identification by local authorities and utility firms
  • Fully compliant with BS EN 124 and carries the BSI kitemark

  • Can be installed by a single person, providing labour cost savings.
