Geocomposite grid being used on a construction project

Two for one: Our new Geogrid forges new path

Our new SX Composite 3030 consists of nonwoven geotextile thermally bonded to our existing SX geogrid. Developed with contractor feedback in mind – it combines the functions of reinforcement, separation and filtration into one single product, rather than having to use two separate solutions.

The solution will help save time when acquiring materials and achieve quicker installations, thanks to the multi-purpose product performing as both a geogrid and a geotextile solution combined.

David Fisher, commercial and technical manager of the geosynthetic division at Wrekin Products, said: “Our aim is and always has been to make our customers’ lives easier, and this product is no less an extension of that ethos. The new composite geogrid combines our filtration technologies with reinforcement measures to provide a single solution to both requirements in one fell swoop."

"We recognised from the conversations we are having with contractors that there is clear demand for this solution and the benefits it brings. Now, time is saved during both the acquisition and installation process. While this may only be a small adjustment to the process, when you’re laying hundreds of square metres down in one go it really adds up."

By incorporating multiple uses into one offering, that’s one less thing contractors now have to worry about, and an added benefit for merchant teams when recommending solutions.”

SX Composite 3030

The SX Composite 3030 has been designed with housing, infrastructure, renewable energy and rail projects in mind. Its versatility is demonstrated through a variety of applications, including on haul roads, compounds, working platforms and permanent roads.

SX Composite consists of nonwoven geotextile thermally bonded to our SX geogrid allowing you to achieve time savings when acquiring materials and overall quicker installations.

It combines the functions of reinforcement, separation and filtration into one single product, rather than having to use two separate solutions.

David continued: “Like all our products, the composite geogrid has been developed using premium and high-quality materials to ensure that even after being subjected to harsh abrasions, it will stand the test of time and remain strong.

“Products which don’t meet our high standards always come with the risk of creating issues that may delay or even halt construction. This almost always ends up becoming more costly for the client. Our products have been tried and tested, and it’s this peace of mind that is hard to put a price on.”

Later this year, we aim to add to the new range of composite geogrids with the higher-strength SX Composite 4040.
