Step one

Use a screwdriver or wire brush to remove the dirt from the top edges and seating of the  installed frame.

Step two

Measure the clear opening

Step three

Identify where the Multigrate will be cut, cutting only two sides, in the cutting zones marked to give a tight ‘wedge’ fit into the frame.

Step four

Offer up the grate to the frame, upside down. Trim with the file if needed.

Step five

Note the kerb side and the road side.

Step six

Remove any more of the grid which is preventing it from being fitted.

Step seven

Insert the grid, applying the necessary force to give a tight fit.

Step eight

If the unit has any residual movement, use wedges supplied, fitted to either side of non-cutting edges.

Wedging the Multigrate

When making the cut against the kerb, please ensure the cut is angled at approximately 80-85° to allow the Multigrate unit to be 'wedged into the frame. Use the green snap-off wedges to secure on the non-cutting edges.
